Juan Manuel Jauregui-Becker is Assistant Professor at the Design, Production and Management Lab at the University of Twente. His research focuses on improving the development process of industrial equipment and manufacturing facilities through the application of lean principles.

He is one of the main developers of the DPU method for design process standardization, which counts with 20+ successful industrial implementations. He has provided advice on the development of several products (i.e. Scoliosis correction implant, Ralker Rolator, Energy Backup System) and improvement of industrial processes (lean manufacturing at Ten Cate, mass customization at Gazelle, process optimization at UNILEVER, lean engineering at TEBODIN, lean development at LELY). Jauregui-Becker holds a PhD in Engineering Design and a Master degree in Mechanical Automation, both at the University of Twente. He received his bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Los Andes, in Mérida, Venezuela, place where he was born and raised.
